OX-42 (Aa, Ba, Ca) and IL-1β (Ab, Bb, Cb) expression in 5-d-old rats receiving saline,
LPS or DMS + LPS injections and sacrificed 1 h later. The intensity of IL-1β immunoexpression in AMC is significantly enhanced in LPS-injected
rats (Ba-c) when compared with control rats (Aa). Upregulated IL-1β immunoexpression
in AMC appears to be sustained in DMS + LPS-injected rats (Ca). Co-expression of OX-42
and IL-1β is evident in DMS + LPS rats as seen in merged images in Cc (arrows). Nuclei
are stained with DAPI. Scale bar = 50 μm.
