Curcumin inhibits the activity of MIP-2 at the level of gene transcription. Confluent astrocyte cultures were transfected with 1.5 μg of pGL3-MIP-2 or pGL3-Basic and stimulated with LPS (5 μg/ml) in the presence or absence of varying amounts of curcumin (10-4-10-6M). Transfected cells were harvested and luciferase activity in the cell lysates was quantified. The dose of curcumin is shown in log scale. Results are representative of three experiments.
